Shay Jacobs
Executive Director
Shay Jacobs is a devoted wife and the joyful mother of four sons. Shay is a community leader keen on change-making and program development for equity in mental health access and improved maternity health outcomes for Black moms and minority women.
In 2018, Shay experienced the devastation of a pregnancy loss. Desperate, she searched for grief support resources and found there was no access to culturally responsive care for Black women. Cultivated from lived experiences, Shay developed Adam’s Purpose to raise awareness of pregnancy loss and the need for addressing the impacts of grief, loss and trauma among Black moms and their families.
Also, as an advocate for moms who have endured pregnancy loss, postpartum, and depression, Shay's passion is to bring help, hope and healing to those impacted by grief and loss through culturally relevant education, healing programs and peer-led support groups.
