EVENT OVERVIEW

This awareness event is aimed at reducing stigma related to mental health challenges, providing culturally responsive resources for the community and fostering the development of mental health resilience plans as a strategy for proactive self-care.

Community mental health resource fair to empower families with practical help paired with access to culturally responsive resources and activities that foster hope, connection and mental health resilience.

Empowerment Concert

Come and participate in this pep rally style empowerment concert displaying phenomenal local artists as they share about the importance of mental health through personal stories of resilience in song, dance, and spoken word.

    The Healing Circle Dance is a style of social dance done in a circle to musical accompaniment. Anyone can join in without the need of partners; watch, follow, and move. Dance movement frees one from physical, mental and spiritual trauma safely in community with others. The Healing Circle Dance can transcend the dancer to places outside a circle healing dance that I understand will be shared in the concert. Participants are encouraged to join in the concert performance with the group.

    Kids calming center includes a variety of multi-sensory stations inclusive of creative art, sand box, slime, and Legos along with an interactive story time and facilitated by Denver Family Institute. This kid-friendly center is available for Kids 5-12 (or under 5 with a parent).

  • GDC Youth Session: 11:00 am

    Greater Denver Care will facilitate discussions with Youth around trauma, grief and loss, bullying, healthy decision-making, and racial identity. We will utilize poetry to engage, educate and empower Youth and families. Through each poem, we will explore critical topics such as self-acceptance, racial trauma, depression, and more. Our mini-workshop is strength-based and centers on Youth development and family enhancement, which includes strengthening communication and raising trauma awareness.
